iQiyi is set to close 2021 on a high with new heavyweight Original Korean drama series Bad and Crazy, by the production team behind The Uncanny Counter, starring Lee Dong Wook (Tale of the Nine Tailed, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God) and Wi Ha Jun (Squid Game, 18 Again, Something in the Rain).
Making its bow today (Nov 19th) is Lee Dong Wook’s character teaser, as he plays a scoundrel for the first time since his role in Strangers From Hell. As Ryu Su Yeol, a consequentialist cop who strives only to get ahead in life, Lee exudes his roguish charm. In addition, viewers can look out for the upcoming character teaser for lead character Wi Ha Jun to debut tomorrow (Nov 20th) on iQiyi social media accounts, which could further reveal how Wi and Lee may be linked to each other.
In this glimpse into Bad and Crazy, Lee Dong Wook is seen drinking, making merry, bowing a full 90 degrees, and flattering his superiors – all seemingly for the sake of career advancement. However, Lee is also revealed to be fit and athletic, runs fast and punches hard. In fact, after bashing someone up, Lee jokes, “I want to kill you, but I’m a bit busy right now,” and finishes with a blink and smirk for his ‘bad guy’ charm to shine through. This leaves some room for imagination for what Lee’s Ryu Su Yeol is really like in the show.
Bad and Crazy will weave together many themes including action, dark comedy, suspense and crime for a satisfying and exciting series of vengeance in an insane society. With quick and slick action that is sure to draw viewers, Lee Dong Wook fights a bunch until he bleeds from the corner of his lips, opening the doors to thrilling plotlines to come.
Bad and Crazy is a heroic drama that follows capable but bad cop Ryu Su Yeol regaining his humanity after meeting the righteous but crazy ‘K’. The iQiyi Original K-series is set to premiere on December 17, with new episodes simulcasting with Korea on Fridays and Saturdays at 9:50pm (MYT), globally across 191 territories on the iQiyi International app and www.iQ.com.
